Adhesive Alginate Dressing
An adhesive alginate dressing is a soft, highly absorbent wound dressing made from calcium alginate fibers derived from seaweed, with an adhesive border for secure fixation. It absorbs moderate to heavy wound exudate and forms a soft gel upon contact with fluid, maintaining a moist healing environment. The adhesive border keeps the dressing in place without the need for additional tape, making it convenient for use on pressure ulcers, leg ulcers, post-operative wounds, and other moderately to heavily exuding wounds. It is biodegradable and gentle on the wound bed.
